Kim Epifano

Kim Epifano has a 30-year history as an award winning choreographer, director, performer, vocalist, educator, collaborator & curator. She founded San Francisco based non-profit company Epiphany Productions in 1997. Awarded the Best Transit Ballet Award in 2010 by SF Weekly, Epifano’s San Francisco Trolley Dances is now its 13th year. Recent works include “Botany’s Breath” at Conservatory of Flowers, “Baile en La Calle/The Mural Dances” as well as “Heelomali”. Her works are recognized internationally. She has received five nominations and four awards from the Isadora Duncan Dance Awards, a CHIME mentorship, Sandbox Series residency, Paul Dresher Ensemble ARC Residency, the 2014 Choreographer Commissioning Awards by the Wallace Alexander Gerbode Foundation, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, as well as the MTC “Excellence in Motion Transportation Award” nominations among others. She received her MFA in Choreography from UC Davis. Over the years, her works have been supported by funders such as National Endowment for the Arts, Grants For The Arts, San Francisco Arts Commission, California Arts Council, Creative Work Fund, The Kenneth Rainin Foundation, Irvine Foundation, The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation, The Walter and Elise Haas Foundation, Zellerbach Foundation, Fleishhacker Foundation among others.
